Alan Mattamana

Mr. Mattamana joined Fairview in 2009 and is a member of Fairview’s investment team. He is involved in a broad set of activities, including due diligence, investment monitoring, and business development. Prior to Fairview, he was a Principal with Polaris Venture Partners, a diversified venture capital firm with over $3.3 billion under management. Mr. Mattamana joined Polaris in 2002 and focused on investment opportunities in the medical technology, healthcare services, information technology, digital media, consumer, and business services industries. At Polaris, he served as Board Observer to several life sciences portfolio companies including Advion BioSciences and GI Dynamics. Mr. Mattamana also led the India investment efforts at Polaris.

Before joining Polaris, Mr. Mattamana was a strategy consultant at McKinsey & Co.’s Silicon Valley office, where he served clients in the high tech sector. He also has previous experience at Goldman Sachs, Neuberger Berman and LibertyView Capital, a multi-strategy hedge fund.

Mr. Mattamana obtained a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Princeton University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He serves on the board of directors of the West Hartford YMCA and the Hartford Stage Theatre Company.
